July 5, Prayers from Europe

Poland– “Each year our team has the opportunity to care for Polish orphans by serving at their summer camp. This year 5 ladies from the US have joined our team to help teach our English lessons. Pray for safe travel to the Polish mountains, and God’s guidance as we care for these little ones 24/7 for the next 17 days. Pray for spiritual conversations with the Polish volunteers joining us, and for our faith to be lived out loud with them daily.

Bulgaria– Please pray for our Bible study group as we gather on the 6th to review our statement of beliefs and the 12 characteristics of a healthy church.  Pray for unity in mind and spirit.

Scotland– Colleagues there have been investing in them and sharing the gospel with them for the last six months. During that time, they began meeting to study God’s Word, which led to Mike* and Sherry* asking great questions about the gospel. On Sunday, June 23, they both put faith in Jesus! As they prayed to receive Jesus, Mike’s* words were, “I am lost without Him [Christ]!” Through her tears, Sherry* affirmed, “I feel the same way!” Thank you for praying for Mike* and Sherry*. Please continue praying for colleagues as they have the privilege to now walk alongside this new brother and sister as they grow in their faith!

Germany– From the Black Forest Academy in Germany, please pray for new and returning staff who are actively raising support to arrive in Kandern in August. All teachers, administrative staff, and dorm staff raise their own support to serve at BFA. Pray that God provides for their financial needs through generous supporters. Pray also for the renovations of a new dorm named “Blauenhof”. The remodeling needs to be completed before the arrival of new dorm staff on August 5th. Pray for the new staff and students that will be living in this dorm.

Spain– Praise for forward momentum in a faith and work initiative among urban professionals in Madrid (Spain), as the group has begun monthly gatherings to focus on encouraging, supporting and praying for one another in their various fields of work. Pray for this group to grow and develop an even stronger vision and subsequent action for being Salt and Light as they explore together the book, “Fruitfulness on the Frontline” by Mark Greene.

France– -Please pray for a volunteer team the Paris City Team (France) has coming mid-July. They will be trying to engage people and share with them. Please pray they will find enough translators and that the Lord will use this time to help local believers spread His Gospel.

Wales– Since moving to the Splott community of Cardiff (Wales) an IMB worker has been building relationships and sharing the gospel with men at the local barber shop. Most of them are young, in their 20-30s. They spend most days selling drugs in the neighborhood parks and meet up in the barber shop to talk. As a way to serve them and show them love, the IMB worker made them a huge platter of barbecue and brought it into the barber shop for lunch one day last week. They loved the barbecue, and most were stunned when the worker explained to them that he did this simply so they would know they are loved. Please pray that God would be working in the hearts of even those hardened young men to draw them to Himself.
