Here are this week’s prayer requests from the IMB yeam in Japan, including a day of prayer and fasting for east Asian peoples. Thank you for praying.
H-san attends the same language school as one of our missionary kids. Pray as the gospel is shared with her that she will call upon Jesus as Savior and Lord.
K-san, a neighbor who recently connected with one of our workers, proclaims to be a Christian but seems to have very little knowledge of what it means to be a believer in Christ. Pray that K-san would be open to discussing her relationship with Christ and future discipleship.
DAY OF PRAYER AND FASTING for the East Asian Peoples and Japan’s city of Sendai. Nicknamed the “City of Trees,” Sendai is the 12th largest city in Japan. With a population of more than 1 million, it is located on the same main island as Tokyo. Draw a line from Washington, D.C., all the way across to Japan and you will find the city of Sendai. Due to the large number of universities in the city, Sendai has also been called the “Academic City.” Pray that residents of the “City of Trees” will draw strength from the Living Water and be like trees planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season. Iwanuma is located on the southern part of Sendai. Residents there lost nearly everything in March 2011. During that time, the Parks discovered a farmhouse once used as an outpost for relief supplies delivery. It became a ministry hub and later a church. Continue to pray for the growth and outreach of this body of Christ.
A friend who’s seeking God and considering following Christ recently read a book of exposition of John 3:16. Her visit with family over NewYears also raised questions of how she would handle cultural/family practices that dishonor God if she becomes a Christian. Ask that the Father would give her saving faith!
Pray for an effective Bible study club to happen for the purpose of evangelism and discipleship in Osaka. Ask that the Father be present in this club and that His Name be honored.
Pray for R-san, who worries about being committed to a minority group by being a Christian. Ask that she and many others on the fence can stand firm and open the way for many more to choose Christ in Osaka.
